Job Purpose:

As a Business Development Associate/ Manager, you will be responsible for business attraction, retention and development within your allocated territory. You will provide support to the SRS Business Unit Head in growing existing client relationships, utilising your experience within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the coordination of strategic plans and sales opportunities for TFS SRS North America
  • Facilitate the preparedness of the TFS team when attending any client meetings
  • Meet annual targets set, including goals and objectives
  • Collect, prepare and present specific background information/ data and summaries on proposed new clients, detailing the rationale behind the choice
  • Prepare sponsor presentations, attending and conducting bid defense meetings – both via telephone (Teams) or face-to-face (When safe to do so)
  • Respond to new enquiries (RFI and/or RFP)
  • Support and monitor any budget or contract negotiations, post award of any work to TFS within your specific territory and/or accounts
  • Plan and attend major industrial events/tradeshows as budget allow
  • Work closely with the Recruitment team to ensure business opportunities are understood correctly, establishing a plan of action to enable to team to recruit the best talent
  • Form a close relationship with other internal TFS stakeholders in order to perform the sales and business target, coordinating a plan across the business units
  • Manage expenses and timesheets effectively – submitting these in a timely manner
  • Utilize internal TFS database to log all business opportunities, ensuring all notes, contacts etc are up-to-date
  • Monitor and track competitor CRO activities
  • Support the development of account strategies and implementation plans and expand through accounts
  • Identify new markets and continuously research new business opportunities, identifying likely revenue streams


  • Bachelors Degree or highly relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience working within a CRO, Pharmaceutical or Biotech sectors
  • Exceptional communicational skills with the ability to build honest report quickly
  • Considerable negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to influence, driving multiple stakeholders towards meeting the customer’s needs
  • Experience in/around recruitment would be ideal, however an understanding of how recruitment functions operate and resourcing solutions would be acceptable
  • Awareness of trends and territory specific government policies and regulations in the clinical trial areas
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills held to a very high standard
  • Initiative, creative and ability to solve complex situations calmly
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Strong presentation, ability to convincingly present features and benefits of services to clients
  • Travel accordingly (when safe) to the needs of the business strategy, travelling extensively within the specific sales territory
