European Cash Collection Lead

About the Opportunity

Dentons Business Services Europe is looking for Cash Collection Lead who will primarily be responsible for design, implementation, and managing of Cash Collection Process for European offices of Dentons in cooperation with Cluster Revenue Managers (CRM), Revenue Operations Manager (ROM) and other Process Owners (PO). The main areas of focus are design, implementation and day to day supervision of the process and the supporting team. The individual is responsible for effective and efficient cash collection workflow (which may require policies and procedures), as well as coordinating the cash collection team and providing high standards of customer service while building good and professional relationship with external and internal stakeholders.

About the role

  • Process Management
    • Together with CRO, CRMs, and POs design, implement, and maintain new improved solutions to ensure accuracy and timeliness of cash collection process, setting process governance and vision of future state (aligned with the Dentons Financial Policy)
    • Develop Cash Collection Process Plan incl. scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensure technical resources and supporting technology (tools, applications, collection techniques)
    • Enabling and resolving process challenges to support the team in increasing collection results
    • Ensure and support effective governance structure and regular calls with team members, stakeholders and clients
    • Comply with the firm's policies , procedures (ISO) and any other legal obligations, and effectively manage risks to the firm where those risks relate to this role
    • Coordinate implementation of the process across all European offices taking under consideration idiosyncrasy of each region
    • Coordinate and manage the process after the development stage on daily basis together with CRMs and SDLs
    • Manage and actively implement necessary changes to the process, discuss regularly with SDLs and CRMs Partner’s and clients satisfaction
    • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in the process scope, schedule and costs
    • In cooperation with SDLs and CRMs implement measures of process efficiency ( KPI’s) , monitor and manage to increase results
    • Regularly report out and discuss the process performance against benchmarks with CRMs and SDLs
  • Team Management
    • Manage cash collection team to ensure accurate and timely collections to keep Partners’ AR current (in “healthy“ condition) and meeting the targets
    • Stabilize operations, ensure transitions between team members are completed seamlessly and team is working independently
    • Provide team with support being point of escalation in people and client related matters
    • Resolve complex cash collection issues and escalations to ensure client satisfaction
    • Collect regular Partner’s feedback, if required. Lead and support resolution of complaints
    • Implement plan to increase satisfaction or address specific areas of complain
    • Report and present team performance against established objectives and KPIs with required actions to drive results and commitments
    • Build effective relationships with internal and external clients
    • Drive continuous improvement in the processes ,tools used and delivery of services
    • People management (performance, recruitment, development, promotions, recognition, etc.)
    • Collaborating with multiple stake holders (Partners, Clients, across Finance, IT, Risk, Financial Systems department, Reporting etc.)

About You

  • 5-8 years of leading teams/experience in finance space in multinational organization
  • Experience in knowledge transfer, process stabilization and working with KPIs
  • Familiar with complex matrix organisations and team of teams approach
  • The ability to focus on detail and follow-through on commitments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal (English), second language will be an asset (German, French, Russian)
  • Able to prioritize based on vision and strategic goals and multi-task particularly when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Able to work efficiently/accurately with little supervision while demonstrating initiative
  • Able to interact positively at all levels and be an inspiring leader for the team
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Critical thinking and problem solving , making decisions independently
  • Resourceful and demonstrate strong problem solving skills (“growth mindset”), with the ability to make judgment calls in an experienced and professional manner
  • Demonstrated the ability to effectively coordinate and work with cross-functional and international work teams
  • Hardworking and enthusiastic approach to work; professional in outlook, attitude and appearance
  • Experience in working with internal and external clients , excellent customer service focus
  • Flexible and prepared to work additional hours when required, e.g. at month, quarter and year ends
  • Experience in managing teams performance and development ( 3-5 years)
  • Continuous improvement mindset and challenging “status quo”
  • Confident using MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
