At Matchesfashion we’re building our next-generation e-commerce and back office systems. We’re looking for talented engineers to help us create great customer experiences, build robust and scalable platforms, and champion our data-driven way of working. We’re looking for engineers that want to make an impact.
Our company leadership behaviours want ALL staff to "act like owners" and make decisions at every level of the organisation. In engineering, this means teams have a lot of autonomy around solutions and the responsibility that goes with that.
How we work
Our cross-functional engineering teams work with product managers and stakeholders to deliver high-value, strategic work. Regular lightweight agile ceremonies keep us aligned and provide opportunities to challenge our assumptions.
We know that writing and managing software is complex. We schedule at least 20% of our time to remove tech debt, and 10% for personal development. We have regular lunch ’n learn sessions to encourage knowledge-sharing and growth. We invest in our teams by providing access to professional training and certification, as well as our professional Udemy subscription.
The Road Ahead
Over the last year, we’ve done some amazing work. We’ve built tooling from scratch to support teams across the business in critical areas such as buying & merchandising, logistics, studio operations, customer care - replacing manual processes with automated, optimised flows. These applications will seamlessly join together to provide a comprehensive ecosystem that will revolutionise how we buy stock, manage product information, and how we surface it to customers. In short, we’re building for our long-term success.
Working across multiple engineering teams, you will provide strategic direction for the technology roadmap. You will investigate new technologies and architectures; support Tech Leads where necessary, creating standards and patterns, documentation, POCs, and training materials. You will also provide support for technically complex issues outside of a team's expertise.
Principal engineers not only initiate and innovate, they coach and support others, and help build a culture of collaboration and trust. Growing others is huge part of success at Matchesfashion.

All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity status or disability status.
