Cookpad is one of Japan's best known tech companies, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and was already highly successful before launching globally in 2013. With strong backing we have spent the last few years building the global platform and we are now in our commercialisation phase of the business.
We launched Cookpad service in Spanish in 2014, and the Portuguese service followed in 2016. Growth is managed from our office in Alicante, Spain, supported by community management teams in 10 countries within Iberia and the Americas.
We are growing at speed and our goal is to be the number one recipe sharing platform in 100 countries by 2021. It’s an ambitious target which means we need to constantly adapt and enhance our service in response to feedback from our users.

Joining our team in Spain, the role of Project Lead - International Business Development is an exciting next step for someone who has completed intensive training in a top management consulting firm and now wants to make an impact on a global scale. You will get hands-on experience in a fast-growing, mission-driven global tech company.
Essential is at least 3-4 years professional experience in an international business context and fluency in spoken and written Spanish, English or at least one other language.
Working with the Spain leadership team, the role will be broad; encompassing strategy, insights and operations and acting as right hand to the leadership team as they build communities of users in our Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets. The focus will be on creating value through the user experience.
We currently offer the platform across 23 countries in Iberia and the Americas. While there are many similarities, each market is in a different stage of its lifecycle and therefore facing different challenges. As a consequence, you will be exposed to a broad set of challenges, for example how to improve our analytical capabilities in some more mature markets, how to bring best practices to the teams in markets we recently entered and how to accelerate the launch in some new markets we might enter.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be working closely together with the different country teams. You’ll help with the analysis, come up with pragmatic and sustainable solutions and work with teams to implement them. From day 1, you’ll be making a difference.
You will have the freedom to help us shape your role and your responsibilities, and we’ll expect you to spot business opportunities that we might otherwise miss.
The role is based in Spain, in your preferred major regional centre, and will involve international travel (circumstances allowing).
