The Senior Business Solution Architect requires to have an in-depth understanding of the Utility business processes – specifically the Capital Projects process (from inception through the estimation, engineering design, and execution) and the underlining business applications (ex. Primavera) to execute those processes. The ideal candidate is someone that came from an asset-intensive organization and led operation groups executing large capital projects. Need to be able to communicate with the executive sponsor as well as provide direction of capital project process best practices.
This role is part of a Design Authority for a large business and IT transformation, in this role you will need to quickly develop an understanding of the client’s business unit operations, operating model, capability needs, and business challenges. Overall responsibility for creating a fully integrated business solution is required, along with an ability to shape the business and technology solution for the various business units. Establish trust with key stakeholders and drive functional objectives to meet the business needs. Responsibilities will include setting the strategic direction for the end-to-end capital project processes, inject best practices, and provide direct leadership for process control, optimization, and data analytics.
The Senior Business Solution Architect will be expected to:
Lead business process and technical requirements workshops with client personnel to develop business process/ technical documentation deliverables including requirements, process maps and key performance indicators for all related processes.
Part of the Design Authority to manage and lead the Capital Project team of software/solution implementation, systems integration, and business consultants or client IT and business staff.
Manage and help implement capital projects process for our utility customers within the electric, gas and/or water segments using Primavera software as primary tool.
Provide overall design guidelines for business application and technology integration, performance, reliability, operating and security designs. Support business units in the creation of project business cases.
Capture business capability and functional requirements, and expected service levels from the client’s business units, along with stated solutions, to create actionable business and IT roadmaps.
On a continuous basis, know and understand all aspects of the job; intermittently analyze work papers, reports and special projects; identify and interpret technical and numerical information; observe and problem solve operational and technical policy and procedures.
Gather data from appropriate sources; analyze problems; identify alternative solutions; project consequences of proposed actions; and implement recommendations in support of project goals.
Contribute to the Utilligent consulting practice (methodologies, service offerings, team development), and drive best practice behaviors into the organization.
Contribute to growth and development of the Practice from a business development, service offering and culture perspective.
Position requires weekly travel to a designated client site. All travel expenses are reimbursed.
