About the role:

As our Public Relations Manager, you will be partnering with our Vice President of Communications to create high impact PR and communications initiatives, developing and promoting our story, and leading media relations. Your mission is to create brand awareness for Jerry. Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute public relations programs
  • Develop culturally-relevant storytelling angles; pitch and secure high-level placements for news and storylines via targeted media relations
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the industry
  • Analyze and support communications of PR results
  • Cultivate paid and earned relationships with experts, influencers and bloggers
  • Manage media inquiries
  • Manage media monitoring tools and reports
  • Integrate with marketing and social campaigns and content

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in public relations with a focus on media relations (agency or start-up experience preferred)
  • Creative storytelling ability
  • Proven track record in securing consumer or tech media placements
  • Ability to thrive in high pressure, fast-paced and ambiguous environments
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented problem solver
  • Uncanny ability to spot trends and topics of interest to journalists
  • Social media experience is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of social media and search impact on earned media success
