Subsequently, we are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data team to help designing, maintaining and evolving our data warehouse and data pipelines. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement Zencargo’s data lake and other data related infrastructure components and architectures
  • Ensure optimal data pipeline architecture and performance optimisation
  • Build and maintain core data models in our data warehouse (single source of truth)
  • Create and maintain best practices for our analytics pipeline, to enable analysts and business users to access data in a self-serving capacity
  • Own training and documentation for analysts and developers
  • Manage user roles, permissions, optimisation, and error handling in our data tools
  • Identify opportunities to integrate other data sources used across the company to automate and centralise analytics in our data warehouse and our self-service BI tool
  • Identify data quality issues and implement scalable solutions for data testing and cleaning


The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Professional experience in a data engineering role
  • Experience designing and building data lakes, data warehouses, data mesh, and ETL pipelines
  • Advanced SQL (preferably Google BigQuery - Standard SQL)
  • Proven ability to transform unstructured data into clean datasets ready to be used by analysts and business users
  • APIs and event streaming
  • Experience working with BI tools (preferably Looker)
  • Experience in designing business intelligence systems and processes
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and communicate with internal and external technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience with testing methodologies and data quality management
  • Experience working in unstructured environments; startup/scaleup experience a plus
