What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a proactive self-starter to join our team as a Senior Product Manager. The Senior PM will be an expert in modern product best practices from discovery and research with a focus on outcomes over outputs to delivery in an agile environment. The ideal candidate will have both a lean mindset and a growth mindset. They will be savvy in their approach to data, testing, and experimentation and they will strive to learn continuously, recognizing failure as a necessary learning point on the path to success. The Senior PM will be comfortable in ambiguity, as they will be embarking upon generative and evaluative research to determine the best new product opportunity for BuildingLink to pursue toward a goal of diversifying our revenue streams. They will then be responsible for the entire product lifecycle of the opportunity we decide to pursue.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the value, feasibility, and viability of various new product opportunities in order to recommend a path forward to BuildingLink leadership.
  
• Develop a holistic product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the selected opportunity, focusing on initial product-market fit and how to iterate toward supporting a viable market size.
• Bring a research, customer-first, and data-informed approach to your product work, setting success metrics to further the business strategy
• Continuously address areas of highest risk and ambiguity by engaging with customers and internal stakeholders, experimenting, testing, and iterating.
• Lead an agile squad to execute on work that is of the highest value to the business, avoiding scope creep and development for the sake of staying busy
• Collaborate closely with design and engineering in all phases of work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a SaaS product management role including building a new product and bringing it to market.
• Adeptness at articulating problems, and pulling back to explain why solving a given problem is right for the business.
• Ability to pull together a strong business case for a new product or feature using data, customer feedback, and business signals.
• Demonstrated understanding of the system around your products and the impacts and outcomes your work will have on the rest of the company, technology, and design.
• Fluency in writing user stories and acceptance criteria that are intuitive and easy to follow. Experience running agile squads is a must.
• Ability to explain complex business processes to a variety of audiences, from internal engineering to external customers, in addition to exemplary communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
• A natural propensity to guide and mentor others, ready to model product management skills and tactics for other PM’s on the team.
• Living near NYC, or willing to relocate, preferred.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience designing and implementing partner integrations.
• Prior experience in real estate technology and property management.
• Familiarity with accounting practices and financial compliance, and confidence in working with related tools.
• Work experience across AP, AR, GL, compliance, and financial reporting packages.
• Work experience on payments products.

Please note: In response to COVID-19, we’ve made the decision to work remotely until at least mid-2021. (Don’t worry, we’re still maintaining our awesome, positive, and supportive culture while remote!) Towards the end of the year, we will reassess the return to the office, and hope to have the Senior Product Manager join us on-site when they feel comfortable doing so. We are also open to remote work for candidates outside of NYC.
