At Matchesfashion we’re building our next-generation e-commerce platform. We’re looking for talented engineers to help us create great customer experiences, build robust and scalable platforms, and champion our data-driven way of working. We’re looking for engineers that want to make an impact.
Our company leadership behaviors want ALL staff to "act like owners" and make decisions at every level of the organisation. In engineering, this means teams have a lot of autonomy around solutions and the responsibility that goes with that.
How we work
Our cross-functional engineering teams work with product managers and stakeholders to deliver high-value, strategic work. Regular lightweight agile ceremonies keep us aligned and provide opportunities to challenge our assumptions.
We know that writing and managing software is complex. We schedule at least 20% of our time to remove tech debt, and 10% for personal development. We have regular lunch ’n learn sessions to encourage knowledge-sharing and growth. We invest in our teams by providing access to professional training and certification, as well as our professional Udemy subscription.
Our technology stack runs on AWS:
The Road Ahead
Over the last year, we’ve done some amazing work. We’ve deployed a completely new presentation tier architecture, integrated with best-in-class services (Stripe/Contentful), we’ve even built Slackbots to automate tasks and improve the lives of our teams. Moving into 2021 and beyond, we’re investing even more in our architecture. This will drive innovation across the business. We’re reimagining the best customer experience throughout our website and mobile apps.
In short, we’re building for our long-term success.
Great senior engineers appreciate the value of each aspect of software engineering, from creatively solving problems, to ensuring quality and performance, to operating software in production. They understand how to manage work in increments and are constantly looking at improving processes. They initiate and innovate, introducing new approaches, techniques and frameworks, and know how to bed them into a team. Great engineers mentor others, and build a culture of collaboration and trust. Growing others is huge part of success at Matchesfashion.
