Solutions Architect

Our client is a product company, a major player in the Point of Sale (POS) domain, which aims to improve the functioning of Quick Service Restaurants, Table Serviсe Restaurants and Retail domains. Collaborating with enterprise clients like Taco Bell, the product has 100,000 software installations in restaurants all over the US, representing 18% of the US market.

The application suite includes:

• Cross Platform (Cordova/Electron, Angular) POS app
• Back of House Solutions (NodeJS/Angular) (reporting, payroll, calculations, and schedules)
• Mobile Ordering (NodeJS/AWS Lambdas)
• Configuration (NodeJS/Angular/AWS Lambdas)

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Solutions Architect who will take technical oversight of our Cloud solutions and work closely with various teams to help with:

• Technical Design in a way that solves the underlying business problems, such that that the design is neither overcomplicated nor oversimplified
• Justifications of said technical designs with stakeholders (both the team and the client)
• 24x7 stability and availability of Cloud services
• Continuous integration
• Delivery of Cloud services to production
• Reviewing new dependencies introduced into the system in terms of licensing, security and maintainability
• Ensuring technical design is Cloud-native and AWS-friendly
• Troubleshooting problems with persistent storages (DBs, cache, search engines)
• Mentorship and support of technical leads

Requirements

Required skills

• 7+ years’ experience in software development
• Foundations of Computer Science: algorithms, data structures and bigO notation
• Structured approach to troubleshooting complex cross component problems
• Leadership by example
• Hands on coding experience
• Any modern backend platform (node, .NET, Java)
• AWS product suite (ECS, Lambdas, API Gateway, Route53, CloudWatch, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, S3 etc.)
• Mongo, Redis
• Familiarity with internals of Angular-based SPAs
• Jenkins and CI/CD automation
• Expertise in understanding, following, and active influence on enhancing the defined software development process
• Fluent spoken and written English for daily communication with the client and international teams
• Strong modeling and design skills
• Ability to take technical responsibility, self-manage, and work without supervision

Desired skills

• Experience in the Point of Sale domain
• Interest in business travel to the USA
• Elastic, Redshift
• Any experience with reporting platform is a plus (Snowflake, SSRS, Tableau etc.)
