ioby seeks a UX Engineer to join our small and growing national team. The UX Engineer will be the third engineer on our Product team in our exciting transition to bringing product development in-house. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the UX Engineer will play a critical role in building products co-created with the communities we serve and grounded in learnings from our work responding to the many crises of 2020.
ioby’s ideal candidate must be committed to racial justice and empathetic design. Our ideal candidate should be passionate about gathering inclusive user feedback and co-creating technology for and with marginalized communities, but may not have yet had the opportunity to put those values into practice.
Responsibilities will include designing interfaces and wireframes (35%), front-end engineering (25%), conducting user research; writing user stories, personas, storyboards (15%), working collaboratively with teams outside of product (10%), as well as graphic design, creating style guides, component libraries and accessibility testing.

ioby is a distributed team. This position can be based remotely anywhere in the United States. This job may require occasional work hours outside of ioby’s regular business hours (9am–6pm Eastern; Monday through Friday) and some occasional travel.

This is a full-time, salaried position in the $88,000-$105,000 range, commensurate with experience, and includes a generous benefit package (including full coverage for health, vision, and dental; 27 vacation days; 10 sick days; at least 8 holidays; a 401(k); and an attractive "Whole Person" policy).
*Please note: the salary range is based on location in New York or San Francisco. For candidates in other locations in the United States, the salary range will be adjusted based on cost of living.
